2018 Participating Breweries
- Le Pianiste
Complex, caramel malts along with French Hop varietals combine with that Brett and Pediococcus yeast to create this Sour Farmhouse Ale
- Mango Habanero Oberon
The full-flavored and medium bodied wheat malt and citrus notes of Oberon provide the perfect canvas for the colorful interplay of tropical mango and the warmth of habanero peppers
- Kosmic Mother Funk Grand Cru
Kosmic Mother Funk Grand Cru is tart, funky, and complex with notes of dark fruits, cherry, cocoa & vanilla. The addition of a small amount of Belgian candi sugar adds a bit of smoothness and hint of sweetness to this vintage. This one-of-a-kind Belgian ale is fermented with multiple micro-organisms including Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus and other wild critters found in the environment of our Barrel Room. These bugs give layers of spicy, fruity, & bright tart notes to the beer. The beer is aged in Hungarian oak tuns, which smooths any harsh flavors
- 26.2 Gose
Samuel Adams Boston 26.2 Brew is our beer brewed in partnership with the Boston Athletic Association to celebrate the Boston Marathon. This gose style ale contains light cereal notes from malted and unmalted wheat with a touch of peppery spice. Soft wheat and citrus character are contrasted with hints of salt and coriander and it finishes clean with soft fruit and crisp citrus notes. All profits generated from the sales of Boston 26.2 Brew along the Boston Marathon route are being donated to the Greg Hill Foundation, which supports survivors and their families who were impacted by the 2013 Boston Marathon.
- 2014 Palo Santo Marron
An unfiltered, unfettered, unprecedented brown ale aged in handmade wooden brewing vessels. The caramel and vanilla complexity unique to this beer comes from the exotic Paraguayan Palo Santo wood from which these tanks were crafted. Palo Santo means "holy tree," and its wood has been used in South American wine-making communities.
- 2016 Immort Ale
For this beer, we use maple syrup from Red Brook Farm (Sam's family farm in Western Massachusetts), peat-smoked barley and vanilla. Immort is fermented with a blend of English and Belgian yeasts, then aged in the big oak tanks at the brewery. The sweet and earthy flavors meld magnificently in the Immort Ale.
This year, we collaborated with local Templeton coffee roaster Dark Nectar to find the perfect coffee to complement the rich dark chocolate and bourbon character of Parabola. After tasting single-origin coffees from around the world, we found what we were looking for. Their Ugandan single origin roast adds subtle nutty and fruity accents that round out the flavor profile of Parabajava, resulting in an overall profile reminiscent of a rich, espresso-infused batch of fudge brownies. The barrels selected for the final blend were from several batches in the summer of 2015, averaging just over a year in age at blending.
- Feral One
Feral One is an annual blend of our best efforts, from hand-selected well-aged barrels, chosen by the Masterblender and Barrelmeister. An earthy funky nose gives way to complex ester notes of dried apricots, strawberry, guava and slight orange zest. Toasted mature oak, lavender, vanilla and cinnamon lurk in the background. A mouth-watering acidity and soft tannins are punctuated by a firm carbonation. Savor now, or age longer for a special occasion.
- Imperial Coconut Porter
Imperial Porter with real hand toasted coconut added. Four times the amount of toasted coconut than our flagship, Coconut Hiwa Porter
- Hoppy Wheat Ale using Denali, El Dorado and Motueka Hops
- 2013 Imperial Russian Stout
A rich and thick aromatic beer with notes of chocolate, coffee, black currants and roastiness. 10.8% ABV.
- 2013 Old Guardian Barleywine
The huge maltiness of this beer is tamed only by an equally prodigious addition of hops, creating a rich, slightly sweet, caramel hued ale with assertive bitterness and bright hop notes. 11.2% ABV.
